The "GoldenGlow"© high temp, adjustable heated filter.

This  conversion component is available as ready to install unit but can also be fabricated easily and more economically  using the "How to" files which are sent via email and inlet/outlet adapter parts which are sent priority mail.

Until now it was very difficult and expensive to incorporate a heated filter in your vegoil conversion. Most 12vdc "heated filters" are actually only designed to warm petrodiesel to slightly above the point where it is fully liquid..around 40*F. Worse yet most are not designed for constant duty..so they often fail prematurely when used for vegoil conversions. Often they cannot be repaired when the heater units fail...and so an entire new filter head must be purchased to regain the filter heating capability. The modification required to turn these low temp "heated filters" into the high temp heated filters required for vegoil conversions not only voids any warranty... it hastens their demise.

The "GoldenGlow©" heated filter conversion is specifically designed as a high temp vegoil filter and has the added feature of adjustability so you can set the maximum/minimum temperature of the vegoil exiting the filterhead.  Up to 45 amps of 12vdc energy can be applied to incoming vegoil in 15 amp increments using easily replaceable heavy duty glow plugs available via the internet or local auto supply store. Best of all it is based on a commonly available and inexpensive fuel filter head so you can convert it yourself using the part supplied with these files, the Goldenrod model 495 filterhead and a few commonly available plumbing and heating parts. Another handy feature of the "GoldenGlow©" heated filter is that a common automotive coolant temperature probe/gauge unit can be easily installed in the outlet using the optional outlet adapter. This allows you to quickly tell when the filter is up to minimum "swichover temp" and monitor the filter outlet temp from a dash mounted gauge. These probe/gauge units are commonly available at automotive stores for around $10.  Generally the cost of the 15amp completed heated filter is under $110 including the cost of the files and part(s) I supply and those you purchase locally. Shipping is included at no extra charge for the continental US. Please contact me if you need shipping to any other part of the world.

Note: This conversion also works with  other filters with 1"NPT inlet and outlet ports.

Basic Goldenglow (1" NPT port) file and inlet adaptor part $US30

Little Devil© 12volt DC electric fuel heater. Directions, pictures, and diagrams aid in assembling and installing this simple unit in about half an hour. It is made from common "off the shelf" plumbing and automotive components which cost about $40 new. With a bit of salvaging the cost can be as little as $20. Controlled by a simple thermostat this unit is perfect for quickly boosting vegoil temperature to a steady 20* temperature range which you choose. It allows for shorter "switchover times" and in some warm climates may be all that is required to convert a vehicle to vegoil. Cost for the "how to" file $US20.00.

YelloJacket© Coolant/fuel heat exchanger. This simple unit is easily assembled in about a half hour by following the included directions, pictures, and diagrams. In cool climates this unit provides a secondary temperature boost to the vegoil on its way to the filter. In some application this may be all the heat required to bring the vegoil to the desired 150*F+. Constructed of common plumbing supplies costing less than $10 it is a required part of any conversion in colder climates. Cost for the "how to" file $US20.00. This item is also available as a ready to install component. Standard size is 2"x 48". Cost (including shipping) is $US50.00

HotRod© Combination fuel tank heater and heated fuel pickup. A must in cold climates or where a high fat/tallow content in present in WVO this simple to assemble unit warms the WVO in the fuel tank while preheating the cold wvo passing through it. Costing around $10 to make it can be easily assembled using common plumbing supplies using the directions, pictures, and diagrams  included in this "how to" file. Cost for the "how to" file $US20.00.
